i suppose i should initiate this epic blog by teaching you folks a thing or two about a thing or two
i'm from california, i'm in education, i like computers, i like some shoegaze music, some grunge, and a lot of progressive rock, along with those psychedelic influences (spicy!)
politically, im anywhere from there to here, and hence i would call myself an "apolitical libertarian" (maybe without overbearing corporatism). i tend to have a general live-and-let-live stance, but socially i would put myself closer to conservatism or paleolibertarian social-tendencies
i am a free-speech advocator and purist as a human right and a governmental decency
i see entertainment and music as human rights and think there should be public institutions in place for the common distribution of such material
i'm working on learning the guitar, and the keyboard, and i really freaking wish i had drums
i like monero, it's a cool and beneficial concept
my favorite bands consist of (in no particular order) Emerson, Lake & Palmer, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, Nirvana (though this is apt to change given i havent listened to nearly enough music yet)
epic music suggestion
i came across in a spotify (i know, yucky) "relaxing shoegaze" playlist an album called "The Milia Pink and Green" by an American band called "Sway". naturally (not really) i felt interested enough to listen to it, and it was very very good in my opinion. it had overbearing yet well put-together distortion and beautiful soundscapes. if you are a fan of distortion, distorted rock, shoegaze, or all of the above, you may or may not be obligated to listen to this album RIGHT NOW
i think you can support the band through their record label's bandcamp (LINKED HERE), which if so please do, they are or were a great band
overall ratings
Catchiness: 8/10
Soundscapes: 10/10
Vocals: 9/10
Overall album: 9.5/10
Overall, I loved this album and I think it is more than worth the listen. You will not be disappointed if Shoegaze is a genre you like.
